Anytime we are in the kitchen we add a bit of ourselves into what we are preparing. This is why we take care to be mindful of our own energy when we are in the kitchen.

It can be as simple as getting a friend a glass of water, you can Intentionally add health and contentment energy to the water before you hand them the glass. It can also be as extravagant as a feast meal where you pour Intentional love and happiness into the food and drinks.

I firmly believe that my kitchen is a Sacred Space. This room is where I and my family get most of our body's needs fulfilled. To say that this is important is an understatement.

CLEANING

In the Spring and Fall, my kitchen gets a full cleansing.

Before you get started cleaning, Focus your Intention on your cleaning products. Hold them to your heart and be clear with your expectations. I use natural cleaners and reusable cloths.

During my cleaning, every little nook and cranny gets attention. Not only for the cleanliness but to get rid of any unwanted energy that may be hanging out in there. While I'm cleaning I declutter and organize. I give away what we do not need.

Then my floor gets a really good sweep and mop. You can sweep and mop stagnant energy right out of the room. This is a good time to open the windows to allow the energy to escape.

Once I am finished I either smoke cleanse with purifying herbs or diffuse purifying essential oils.

I like to start with a clean kitchen before meals. I make sure the dishes are done and I wipe down the counters. It gives my kitchen Magick a fresh start.

DECOR

Our kitchen is very small. I just got a small shelf for my alter. I'll share it when it has more on it. I also have my aloe plant for minor cuts and burns.

  • statues of hearth Goddesses

  • crystals and stones on your windowsills, in your cupboards and drawers

  • the ABC's of a kitchen witch

  • witch bells on the doorknob

  • witch balls in the windows

  • spell jars

  • jars of dried herbs

  • kitchen witch art or signs

  • strings of beads hanging in the windows

  • windchimes

  • wooden spoons made into a pentagram

  • dishes from your ancestors

  • a witchy mug collection

PREPARING FOOD AND DRINK

Before you start preparing your meal, create a magickal atmosphere and get into a good mindset. You can play some relaxing music, light some incense or add oils to a diffuser, light a candle, and say some affirmations or chant.

Set a clear intention for the meal.

Keep your intention in the forefront of your mind while you are cooking.

Select foods and seasoning/spices that go along with your Intention.

Select foods that contribute to you and your family's being, magickal cooking is nourishment to the body and soul.

While you are preparing the food hold each ingredient to your heart and visualize your desired results.

Your Magick will infuse your food.

When using oil in a pan, drizzle the oil into a Sigil or Pentagram.

Stir Clockwise to Infuse and Counterclockwise to Release.

Remember that setting the table can be magickal too.

Bless the food before everyone eats.

Be mindful of your Intention and take your time while you eat.

Give the Magick time to Manifest.

HERBS, SPICES, SEASONINGS

Make a list of the herbs, spices, and seasonings in your kitchen. Take the time to learn about them. Each one affects your food differently. Learn the magickal correspondences that go with each. When you buy a new herb or spice learn about it.

GRIMOIRE

You're Grimoire should be a record of all the knowledge that you learn. Every Grimoire is different for each Witch. Besides all the normal stuff a Witch keeps in a Grimoire, you can add your knowledge of food, herbs, spices, family recipes, and magickal cooking.
